In addition to #GivingTuesday on December 1, #GivingTuesdayNow was created in response to increased need during the COVID-19 crisis. This new day of giving will be celebrated on May 5. To help your organization, we’re here with three tips for creating a last-minute digital #GivingTuesday campaign.
1. Set up a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign
When your organization is pressed for time to create a #GivingTuesday campaign, a peer-to-peer fundraiser is a great option. Peer-to-peer fundraisers are flexible, create engagement, and can be run entirely online from anywhere.
Setup is quick and easy using Stewardship’s togetherweraise platform. With togetherweraise, your organization can begin fundraising today.
2. Spread the word through social media
Share your organization’s online giving page or peer-to-peer fundraiser across all of your social media accounts. Include links to your fundraiser on all of your #GivingTuesday posts, especially as the day draws closer.
Additionally, encourage your followers to share your #GivingTuesdayNow fundraiser on their personal profiles to help maximize visibility.
3. Let your donors know they are making an impact
As you begin collecting donations for your #GivingTuesday campaign, take the time to share the impact that these donations are making in the community.
For example, a food bank might share: “We have raised enough funds to feed one hundred people for two months.” By sharing the fundraiser progress in terms of impact instead of dollars raised, you create deeper engagement with your community.
Also important, take this time to publicly and personally thank your donors. Make sure each donor knows how their contribution was applied and that it is appreciated.
