Google Grants for Nonprofits

There are 3.5 billion searches a day on Google. Yes, we said BILLION.

One of the biggest missed opportunities for nonprofits is Google for Nonprofits, which offers $10,000 per month of in-kind advertising to nonprofits. These pay-per-click ads help your organization be more visible online in search results, so your message can reach potential donors, volunteers, and even employees.

While the application process can take several hours of dedicated time, the upside is that all eligible organizations that apply are awarded the grant. And once you’ve gone through this step, as long as your nonprofit continues to follow the rules (log into your account each month to keep it active, keep your budget to no more than $329/day, avoid campaigns that direct to social media pages, to name a few), you’ll continue to receive the in-kind advertising.

To help you understand how to take advantage of this free advertising, Stewardship invited Thought Leader Jacob Barr of iRapture.com to our monthly webinar series. Jacob shared his expertise with Google Grants and how an organization can take advantage of the offer.

You can use Google Grants to:

  • Reach potential donors, volunteers, and even employees when they’re searching on Google
  • Raise awareness by choosing relevant keywords and creating unique ads to highlight your work
  • Track online donations, newsletter sign-ups, and volunteer registrations
  • Promote your organization’s website on Google with in-kind AdWords advertising
